Non Heating Issues |
|
If the heater in your spa stops functioning, there are a some items you want to checkout. The following list of items may help you determine the cause or the remedy to the issue you are facing.
1. Verify that there are no Error Codes on your spa’s display. If an error code is displayed, follow instructions on this website in the Error Codes section to see if your issue is non-heater related (i.e. Dirty filters causing a “FLO”/”FL1” message) 2. Make sure your spa has a demand for heat by increasing temperature at least 2 degrees above the set temperature. Your spa will most likely have an indicator telling you that it has turned the heater on. Check your spas Owner’s Manual to see what your indicator should look like, if you are unsure. 3. If the indicator does NOT appear/come on, check to make sure your spa is not in an economy mode. Your Manual will instruct you on how to tell if you are in an economy mode. If you ARE in economy mode, than switch to Standard mode of heating and check again to see if indicator is on after approximately 1 minute. If no indicator comes on you should call/email us to setup for a service call. 4. If an indicator is on the display the next step is to verify whether the spa is in fact heating, unfortunately, this step takes some time and patience. Check the spa’s actual water temperature, and see what temp the spa gets to in 1 hour. 5. Spa’s will heat on average of 6-10 degrees per hour during summer months and 4-8 degrees per hour during winter months. If your spa is heating at these rates per hour you are fine enjoy your spa when it gets to temp. However if these temps are not reached in the allotted time you should call/email us for service. Please note that if your spa is running (jets work when turned on) you should NEVER Drain or Turn OFF your spa. Especially during the Winter when freezing temperatures can/will cause damage to your spa which is NOT covered by most manufacturer’s warranties. Although your spa will drop in temperature it can not freeze if the Jets/Pumps are operational. Most spas will engage a Freeze-Protect by turning the jets on automatically. |
