Your spas Diverter is responsible for shifting water from one area of your spa to another. Sometimes due to sand or other debris, the diverter may "sieze" or stop turning. Diverter problems unfortunately not covered under any manufacturer's warranty. However they can be easily fixxed by the spa owner if caught in time. The following tutorial will guide you through proper methods of cleaning a diverter.
Identify the diverter valve on your spa, a common one is shown below
Remove handle by pulling it straight up
Unscrew cap by turning it counterclockwise
Pull out Diverter Gate (white plastic stem)
If necessary, sand the Gate with a fine grit sand paper, or simply rinse off if no sign of damage to the Gate.
Replace parts in the reverse order they were removed. Handle for spa should turn 180 degrees or between 9 o'clock and 3 o'clock if you are standing directly in front of it.
